Project
The loan has been provided to Verda Cloud Oy to finance investments in graphics processing units (GPUs) and related networking and storage equipment. These investments will be used to develop new servers with high-performance computing capacity deployed in data centres, primarily in Finland.
Total project costs are estimated at approximately EUR 132 million, including financing from multiple lenders.
The transaction is supported by the InvestEU programme under the Connectivity, Data Infrastructure and Digital Technologies framework. The operation contributes to strengthening European digital infrastructure and supporting EU-based companies, in line with EU objectives to enhance competitiveness and data sovereignty.
Fulfilment of NIB's mandate
The project contributes to productivity by supporting the expansion of high-performance computing capacity. Increased availability of computing resources supports innovation, digitalisation and the development of data-driven applications. The project also contributes to strengthening Europe’s digital infrastructure and reducing dependence on non-European cloud providers.
Sustainability summary
The project is aligned with the Bank’s sustainability policy and guidelines, and no significant sustainability concerns have been identified.
