Fulfilment of NIB's mandate

Productivity

The upgrading and expansion of the networks will improve the quality of infrastructure services and enhance security of supply in the region. The increase in capacity due to the investments in sub-stations and networks will allow for potential increases in demand.

Environment:

The projects will upgrade the regional electricity grids in Western Norway, meeting the increased capacity demands due to the general electrification of society. The capacity in the network will increase by approximately 60 MW. Investments contributing to increased electrification in power networks are considered EU Taxonomy-aligned for climate change mitigation.

Sustainability summary

No significant sustainability concerns have been identified in relation to the project.
