Project

The loan has been provided for DLF Seeds A/S to finance the company’s R&D programme between 2023 and 2026. The loan will support the company in reaching its R&D goals over the next three years.

DLF Seeds A/S is one of the world’s largest producers of clover and grass seeds for purposes ranging from forage grasses for cows, horses, and sheep to turf grasses for the professional market including sports fields and landscaping. The company cooperates actively with universities and research institutes in Denmark and abroad. The main shareholder is DLF Amba, a cooperative owned by 2,600 Danish farmers. DLF is headquartered in Roskilde, Denmark.

DLF Seeds, a Denmark-based global seed leader is operating in over 100 countries with 25 breeding locations and 40 trial sites. DLF focuses on forage, turf, vegetable, and potato seeds.
R&D priorities include water-efficient crops, methane-reducing grasses, green protein biorefinery, and legumes for EU protein self-sufficiency. Advanced AI and genomic tools accelerate breeding, optimising traits like yield, disease resistance, and drought tolerance.
With more than 2,000 employees, DLF partners with 30 academic institutions to drive innovation. Its specialised workforce and strategic focus ensure continued growth in a competitive market.
